Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation is offering Learn to Play Pickleball sessions for beginners who are curious to see what the fastest growing sport in America is all about. These are low-key, non-competitive sessions where participants will have the opportunity to learn the basic rules of pickleball while getting comfortable hitting the ball in various situations.There will be equipment available to borrow for those who need it. Each session is two Tuesdays in a row. Session 1, 2 and 3 are the same Learn to Play class. Did you take our Learn to Play Class last year? Looking for more advanced skills? Take our NEW Advanced Beginner Pickleball Class! This class will focus on positioning on the court. We will practice dinking, lobbing and the third shot drop. The class will also teach strategies for when to use each type of shot. Players should be familiar with the basic rules and skills of pickleball. Each session is two Tuesdays in a row. 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM    Tennis Clinics: Adult Beginner - 6/18
These introductory clinics are for people with no prior instruction or very little exposure to tennis. We will focus on learning the basics of the game including strokes, footwork and scoring. Our goal is to have you playing tennis within a few lessons. The lesson will include a light warmup, a “stroke of the day”, drills and some live ball play.Players should bring a water bottle, towel and hat/sunglasses/sunscreen. If you don’t have a racquet, we will provide you with a demo. We will have racquets and accessories available for sale as well.Clinic Schedule: Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 PM. Clinics will be held on courts 1 and 2 (closest to the paddle courts).Sign-up on a class by class basis. Registration closes 24 hours before the clinic starts or earlier if the clinic hits maximum capacity.

These Adult Intermediate Tennis Clinics are for people who have had some instruction and playing experience. The clinic will include a light warm up, drills to work on all the shots of the game, with singles and doubles play. There will be live games and some point play with serves.Please bring a tennis racquet.Clinic Schedule: Tuesday, 6:30-7:30 PM, Courts 1 & 2Sign-up for clinics on a class by class basis. Registration closes 24 hours before the clinic starts or earlier if the clinic hits maximum capacity.
