Ballet
DANCE SIMSBURY with Artistic Director Wendy E. Holmes



All classes will be held at The Dancer's Studio (18 Station Street, Simsbury)

PROPER TRAINING FOR FUTURE DREAMS
  • A program designed for the beginning thru experienced dancer who is interested in learning more about the art of dance.
  • All technique classes will follow a traditional ballet format, promoting the joy of dance thru movement exercises, and disciplined study.
  • Each class is an integral part of the planned curriculum for the year.
  • In addition, performance opportunities will be made available for more experienced dancers.

DRESS CODE
  • Jazz Classes: Black leggings, Fitted T Shirt or Dark Leotard and Footless Tan Tights
  • (Baggy pants and shirts prevent the teacher from seeing if you are making mistakes)
  • Bare Feet or Dance Paws
  • Ballet/Pilates (Adult): Black Leggings, Yoga Pants and Fitted T Shirt
  • Pink Canvas Ballet Slippers or Socks

WENDY HOLMES
  • Wendy Holmes received her BA in Dance/History from Mills College in Oakland, CA.
  • Alumna of Walnut Hill School, and The Boston Conservatory Dance Division, Boston Ballet, and Harvard's Summer Dance Program in Massachusetts.
  • Ms. Holmes' extensive career in dance as a performer and educator has given her the opportunity to work with artists from all over the world.
  • She has trained in the Cecchetti (Italian) and Vaganova (Russian) traditions of classical ballet.
  • Ms. Holmes' has held the postion of adjunct professor in ballet at Mt. Holyoke College, Bridgewater, and Springfield Colleges.
  • She has performed with classical ballet and early dance companies throughout the USA.
  • For over 10 years she owned The Dancers Studio of Duxbury, and has directed private high school, recreation, and conservatory ballet programs.
