Fencing - Simsbury Unified Sports Program
Unified Sports is an inclusive sports program that combines athletes with and without disabilities as teammates. The Unified Sports model promotes social inclusion through shared sport training and competition experiences. Athletes feel a sense of belonging, they can meaningfully interact with others, develop mutually rewarding relationships and are received with acceptance and respect. This Unified program is open to beginner to intermediate level fencers. The program will teach the basic fencing fundamentals, develop proper technique and bouting experience. Every aspect of fencing is covered, developing a solid skill foundation. On the first day of class safety rules and the proper use of the fencing weapon (foil) and protective gear are introduced. All equipment is provided. This 8-week program is held at Boy Scout Hall on Thursday afternoons from 4:15-5:15 and costs $121 per student.
This class will be taught by Jennette Faulkner.
