Community Gardens
The Simsbury Community Gardens are on Sand Hill Rd., behind Ethel Walker School. They offer fun and relaxing gardening for those who live in condos or apartments, or in wooded areas with limited sun. There is also an organic area for those who are concerned about pesticides and genetically altered vegetables. The plots are plowed and tilled in late April or early May, depending on the weather. Small plots of 600 square feet are $25, and large plots of 1350 square feet are $50 for the whole season, which ends October 24. New gardeners may rent plots beginning April 1. Non-residents may rent plots on a space available basis beginning May 1. Gardeners must print out the linked reservation form (below) and mail it to the Simsbury Recreation Dept. with their signature to finalize their reservation. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS PLOT MAP LINKED BELOW, PLOTS MAY HAVE BEEN RENTED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE. PLEASE CALL SIMSBURY FARMS 658-3836 TO CONFIRM OPEN PLOTS. UPDATES ARE NOT DONE AUTOMATICALLY ON THE WEBSITE, THEY NEED TO BE DONE MANUALLY. THIS MAP IS JUST TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT THE AREA IS LIKE.
